It was fate from the beginning. I met Nikki at a fair at the STEAM museum and took a photo of what was ultimately my dress before even speaking to Nikki. Nikki made feel at ease about lead time for dresses, having off the peg options and order in options with very reasonable lead times. Inviting my future mother and sister in law, it just so happened to be where my future sister in law got her dress ten years ago - I had no idea! The shopping appointment went smoothly. Nikki made me feel very welcome and at ease, no rushing us to make a decision and it was all calm. Parking just outside (which was free at time of writing) and a wine bar next door also a lovely touch! I tried on a good selection of beautiful dresses and Nikki’s insight was really helpful, the dresses she suggested really helping me narrow down what I liked. I love that when I go back for fitting and alterations, it will be Nikki doing it as well. Excited to browse the accessories too. A real one stop shop and could not recommend enough.

Five stars, definitely! I couldn’t have been happier with Fairytale Occaisions and Nikki (the owner).

From the first appointment through to collecting my dress, everything was perfect. 

I first visited Fairytale Occaisions with three friends and was encouraged to try on as many dresses as I liked. This gave me an idea of which style I liked and what felt right for me. I chose the beautiful Suzanne by Wendy. Job done! But then I started thinking about ball gowns again and how bridal I felt in them, especially for our traditional Church service. When I chatted to Nikki about this we came up with a solution, a detachable tulle skirt. Perfect, two dresses in one. Nikki created the pattern herself and made it with layers of beautiful honey tulle and an ivory satin belt. I was over the moon with the result and had a truly unique and bespoke wedding dress which fitted me like a glove. I had my ball gown for the traditional part of our wedding and a slinkier dress for the evening to party in. I felt probably the best I’d ever felt due to the confidence it gave me.

 I should say the fittings are reasonable compared to other boutiques and everything is done in-house, so your dress never leaves the boutique until you collect it. Nikki does the adjustments herself and nothing is too much trouble.

On my final fitting and 10 days before my wedding, I realised that I’d forgotten to get a veil. Nikki kept me calm and we ordered one, this came into the boutique within the week, problem solved. 

The service I received was extremely high and my dress and skirt were steamed and pressed to perfection on collection.

I highly recommend this boutique especially if you are looking to put bespoke touches to your dress. Nikki is wonderfully creative and her expertise shows in her beautiful work. You are in safe hands. I can’t thank you enough Nikki xxx

After unsuccessfully looking on the high street for a prom dress, we decided to go to a 'proper' shop and this one was the only one that answered with an appointment time.

Easy to get to from Swindon by car (or bus) and plenty of parking, the appointment system meant we had the place to ourselves.

Despite the prom now being quite close, the owner did not throw her hands up in horror but explained that we would probably not have time to wait for dresses to get shipped in but there was still plenty to choose from.

My daughter chose several dresses to try and based on her likes, the owner picked out lots more, one of which my daughter fell in love with.

The atmosphere was relaxed, we weren't rushed or pressured to buy and have the added bonus that the few adjustments needed could be done 'in house'.

My daughter came out of the shop buzzing with excitement and looking forward to wearing her new dress at the prom.

Should I ever ditch my present husband and get married again, I shall probably come here for my dress!

When I walked into the little shop in Highworth I wasn't expecting to find ‘the dress’. At this point I’d been to all the big dress suppliers with racks and racks of dresses and I thought this little boutique was unlikely to beat the choice. I admit that I was REALLY wrong! The stock you have it perfect, simple, stylish and unique. I fell in love with more than one dress and haven’t stopped grinning since. This shop not only saved the day....but the owner was attentive, helpful and most of all, normal! You can visit 100 stuffy shops where assistants stare at you, tell you utter nonsense and try to flog you a dress. There’s only a few that will let you take your time and enjoy the experience. I would gladly and wholeheartedly recommend Fairytale Occasions to any bride who is looking for a great experience with someone who cares.

I’m delighted with my wedding dress alterations. I had the length taken up both at the waistband and at the hem to avoid losing the beading at the bottom. The alterations are beautifully hand sewn, the dress multi layered with a slip and beaded couture sheath. The alterations have been done in such a way that they may be easily undone for resale.

I absolutely loved my dress and was really happy with the style - the lace and layers of the dress. 

After several appointments it did fit nicely. Howevee, I was a little surprised by the costing of the alterations and a little disappointed at how the dress looked baggy around the middle at times. I would be good to have been forewarned about what would need doing and the time and coatings involved. 

That said, the dress was beautiful and I loved wearing it.

I really enjoyed my experience at Fairytale  Occasions. I loved the friendliness and welcoming feel. The boutique had a lovely vintage vibe. From the antique settee to the vintage tea cups. My friends were looked after well with teas and coffee's plus chocolates and fudge to enjoy. I particularly liked the relaxed feeling I got of not being rushed. Being able to try on a lots of dresses was lovely as in a  previous experience else where I was limited to 5 dresses. The fact that we were able to enjoy a glass of Prosecco and take pics of the different dresses, made all the difference to me. We were there for over 2 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed every second.
