I had a lot of trouble finding my perfect wedding dress. I visited a total of 6 shops and was getting rather fed up by the time I got to Fairytale Occasions! However, visiting Nikki was definitely the best decision I made!! Nikki managed to take my favourite dress and create my dream dress from it – no small feat I might add! From one long dress, Nikki created a short dress with a long skirt I could wear over the top, giving me a truly unique dress that I love. I can’t recommend her enough! 🙂

I took my wedding dress into Nikki and asked if she could make it into a cushion cover, waistcoat & bow tie for my little boys christening and a mini version of the dress. Well….. Where to start?!
Thank you just doesn’t seem enough!!
In March 2014 my mum and I arranged a visit to your shop where I fell in love with the 1st dress I tried – the beautiful Sophia! You were patient & understanding whilst I took the dress off then wanted it on again to make sure it was ‘The Dress’! You listened to what I was looking for & chose the perfect veil & tiara to compliment the dress! This made the big task of dress shopping easy, relaxed, exciting and memorable!
A few months before the wedding I got back in touch to arrange for my alterations to be done. The dress needed taking up, the strap adjusted & the zip change for a corset back. These were no problem for you, I trusted you 100% and knew it would be perfect! When the dress was finished it looked like it had been made to measure for me! I felt like a princess!
Then there was my bridesmaid dresses…..
I had 5 bridesmaids ranging from 9 to 29 years old, all different heights and body shapes. Because of this I had the idea that I would have 5 individual dresses made, all different styles to suit each bridesmaid but in the same material and colour. The biggest regret I have about the wedding is not having these made by you!!! I had these made by a local lady who repeatedly let me down with changing or missing appointments and was inaccurate with her measurements & fittings. 3 weeks before the wedding she dropped off the 5 dresses and did not complete the final fitting. When the girls tried them on that evening they were poorly fitted, badly finished and had pins sewn into the seams. I messaged you at 10.30pm whilst having a bride breakdown about the state of the dresses. You replied that you would be able to sort them, that they could be fixed and not to worry! From that point you became my fairy godmother in disguise! I knew that it was going to be ok and thanked my lucky stars I’d bought my dress from you! I had every confidence in that you knew exactly what you were doing and are highly experienced!
You then had the huge task of rescuing 5 bridesmaid dresses in 3 weeks during the height of the wedding season. This included numerous visits with each of my bridesmaids and you working until 3am on numerous occasions to get them sorted! After all this, you still found time to steam my dress and give my bridesmaids a lesson on how to do me up! For all of this, I am eternally grateful! You went way beyond the call of duty to help me have my perfect day – this is why the words ‘thank you’ doesn’t seem enough!!
When I collected mine & the bridesmaids dresses 4 days before our day I was an emotional reck! A mixture of huge relief, gratitude and excitement overwhelmed me! Plus I was a little bit sad that was the end of my wedding preparation journey as I’d met so many lovely people like yourself a long the way!

I had 6 bridesmaids ages ranging from 16 to 32, I wanted everyone to choose their own style of dress as not everyone suits the same styles, for Fairytale Occasions this was not an issue, having 6 Bridesmaids could have been a nightmare but Nicky made it so easy. She visited the Bridesmaids at my house, she did as many fittings as the Bridesmaids requested and she was so flexible nothing was a problem. The dresses were absolutely stunning and to please every Bridesmaid was a miracle!! I was thrilled with the dresses and have recommended Fairytale Occasions to a number of my friends who are getting married and to anyone else thinking of using their services they are brilliant!
